In CF care there are many situations where we do not know which treatment is best. We estimate that there are over 300 important research questions about CF treatment, which are currently unanswered. We call these treatment uncertainties.
Presently researchers choose their projects because they are fashionable, of personal interest or, commonly, of interest to funders including the pharmaceutical industry. The priorities of patients, carers and clinicians are often overlooked.
